I know I never make a peep about the Sox unless they’re sitting on a comfortable lead. Sue me. This is shaping up to be a very interesting and nerve-wracking September. For the rest of the month, my web browser’s homepage will be set here. At least until things get too dicey and I set it back to my embarrassingly empty Google Calendar.
Go Mariners! (And Detroit!)

Sorry to say, I don’t think it’s gonna happen with the M’s. They’re too damn streaky.

You’re sounding too much like a Red Sox fan Ben! I’m convinced they’ll streak their way into the playoffs, (shutting out the Yankees) and then fizzle out in true Mariners fashion in the ALDS. However, I wouldn’t begrudge them a much deserved ALCS flame-out.
And again, my apologies to all baseball fans who don’t live in the NYC/Boston area. It must be like living in all of America during the Foot Cup or whatever that fru-fru Euro Sport is called.

Hey, wait a second. I’ m beginning to think this site anti-Yankee. Seattle runnning the table? No way, they have too difficult a September; 2 series vs Oak (2x vs Haren), 1 LAA, 1 CLE. As for Detroit, their sched matches the ease of the Yankees’ except, for 2 series vs the Twins where they run into two starts apiece from Johan and Garza. As you can see, I’ve weighed all available evidence. The only plausible outcome would be for the Yankees to win yet another WS (in redemptive Yankees fashion, perhaps with Arod hitting well in the clutch, or Farnsworth learning to pitch.) followed by a quick jaunt to Europe for an upset victory of the Foot Cup.

Craig – How dare you claim I’m anti-Yankee! And some have even dared to peg me as an anti-Republican! I consider myself a proud, shit-stain of a centrist like Thomas Friedman and David Broder, incapable of picking a side in any conflict.
Not really. I’m sure the biases of this site are well-known. Yeah, I hate the Yankees. But only in a fun, jokey manner. Craig and I are actually good friends. We both share an interest in baseball, particularly the American League East, the most annoyingly awesome Division in baseball.
However, I REALLY hate Republicans. I share nothing in common with them. They are truly horrible people, and I think a large part of the problem is that they perceive the governing of our nation in the same way I look at baseball.
Anyway, it looks like Seattle is destined to be the Boston of the 21st century. Their baseball team shows great promise all season, then collapses spectacularly. They also have a shitty highway infrastructure with their own “Big Dig” proposed.
Blabbity blah, the Red Sox and Yankees will meet in the ALCS yet again. I’m working on a one-pager for the playoffs and will cut off my rambling here.

I’ve already forgotten about the suck-ass M’s… it’s football season. Unfortunately, I hate to say it, but I dislike Tom Brady and the Patriots almost as much as Jeter and the Yankees.
Sorry… probably sacrilegious here!

I’m not a big football fan. I’ll watch a Pats game if I’ve got nothing else to do, but yes, they are dicks.
