This was my first glimpse of the DNC Free Speech Zone. I was ready to denounce the entire concept of this Free Speech Zone, but it is literally a stone's throw away from the Fleet Center. I guess literally isn't the appropriate word since the overhead netting prevents any stones from being thrown.

There was all this hype and bitching about the Free Speech Zone being in this remote location, but every bus and taxi unloading convention attendee's was in plain view of the zone. I have no idea how many people walked. Walkers were certainly less exposed to the zone, but they could certainly hear the one guy who had a bullhorn.

I didn't pay attention to this tool. I simultaneously thought he was a christian wingnut and an anarchist at the same time. I had no idea that was possible.

Obviously the place was pretty barren. Only the most patchouli stenched among us thinks there's no difference between the parties this year. Although I don't support the hippies' claims that the zone was in some remote location, it was certainly not very safe. It has only three entrances, razor wire, and steel beams that I could've hit my head on, and I'm only 5'4". If for any reason police or teenagers got trigger happy, anyone inside would've been trapped like fish in a self-important barrel.

Now let's go to Boston Common.
